Just last week I walked into the kitchen to find pots and pans a-flying and pastry bags a bulging. Yes, Ms. Clara (my daughter) was at it again. As I surveyed the damage, I could smell red gravy bubbling on the stovetop and see pasta cooling in the colander. Then the aroma of the confectionary masterpiece that she was assembling caught me off guard. My first thought was, "There goes my diet…" My second was, "WOW!" And my third thought was, "That’s my girl!"

Standing in the middle of this culinary mayhem came these words (he’s five), "Mammy, she’s a good cooker...." And she is. I am very proud of the young lady that she has become. She is a gift from God.
